We are now teaching Tai Chi on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. AND Fridays for beginners at 2 p.m. First class is FREE, then $2 per class. Experience better balance through enjoyable Tai Chi classes!
Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is a highly successful CDC evidence-based falls prevention and fitness program for women and men. Tai Chi’s calm, gentle movement by design greatly improves physical and mental well-being. Training for teaching this class was given by Yang-style Master instructor Suman Barkhas, a Mongolian Tai Chi Master who directs for Oregon state this low impact exercise that puts minimal stress on muscles and joints.
We now offer Line Dancing fun on Fridays! Chair Fitness, Yoga, Trivia and Pinochle are a few other new programs you’ll find on our calendar. Enjoy fresh harvested veggies from our own garden. We offer a Center Library, and our Walking Path has been refreshed with stretching bars added at the beginning and end. Colorful benches dot the path for a needed pause. Check out our new look in the office. And coming soon, watch for a new Center Fitness Room with exercise machines!

On Saturday, October 1st the Westosha Senior Community Center will be hosting our 3rd Annual Wellness Walk Fundraiser and First Responders Celebration.
Activities begin at 10:30 a.m. with a walk-a-thon along the walk path that frames the Center grounds. Afterwards we will go inside for a short speaking program to honor the many lost but not forgotten on September 11, 2001, as well as to celebrate our local first responders who work daily to keep our community safe.
We encourage everyone to sign up and participate in our Wellness walk or to sponsor a walker for as little as $10 to help fundraise for the Westosha Senior Community Center!
How this works:
Sign up to walk and then begin asking friends and co workers to pledge a donation based on the number of laps you will walk or for a flat donation. Collect your donation pledges prior to the event, and then come spend a few hours at the Center walking for Wellness. Be sure to bring your friends so they can make sure you Walk your laps!
Single Wellness Walker: Any person who would like to circulate a pledge form among friends, neighbors and co-workers to raise money based on number of pledged laps around on our Walk Path.
Team Wellness Walkers: Partner up with some co-workers, friends or neighbors and create a relay team to raise money based on the number of pledged laps your team decides.
Participating in the Wellness Walk is not a requirement to enjoy the festivities however, we hope to see many residents and their families here to eat and hear our speakers. We are excited to have Fire Chief Niederer from Bristol Fire & Rescue joining us to share his experiences as a first responder.
If you can’t make it to our event but still want to support the Center and the programs we provide to Seniors in all of Kenosha County? Please sponsor one of the Seniors who will walk that day by choosing an amount below and donating.
Suggested donation levels. Paypal & major credit cards accepted. THANK YOU for your support!
