The Western Kenosha County Senior Citizens Council, Inc. (WKCSCC) has owned and operated the Westosha Senior Community Center (WSCC) since 1981. Westosha Senior Community Center’s purpose is to coordinate services, programs and activities that assist seniors in maintaining their independence, provide new opportunities for learning, creativity, fitness and friendship, and encourage their involvement as vital members of their communities. Over the past decade, WSCC, an independent 501(c)3 non-profit, has worked to build and provide robust fitness, activity and education programs. WKCSCC’s major funder is Kenosha County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). Especially considering issues of affordability, many of the 200 seniors who visit WSCC monthly do require the services of the Senior Center to improve personal health through being mentally and physically engaged.
Westosha Senior Community Center (WKCSCC) is an independent adult senior center. Independent is defined as able to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) which include but are not limited to eating, toileting and mobility. If assistance is needed with eating, toileting or mobility, a caregiver must remain with participant at the Senior Center. Caregiver is defined as the primary person in charge of caring for an individual with special needs. (aplaceformom.com)
Our senior members and program participants live in Bristol, Salem Lakes, Trevor, Silver Lake, Brighton, Wheatland, Somers, Paddock Lake, Twin Lakes, Randall, Union Grove, Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie. WSCC provides services to nearly 500 senior citizens per year. Many events are inter-generational to welcome families with seniors. Members range in age from 50 to 99.
Western Kenosha County Senior Citizens Council Membership contributions help to sustain programs for all our members and encourage volunteerism for WSCC.
Our programs are substantially supported by funds provided under the Older Americans Act. Our programs are open to everyone aged 60 and older. You do not have to be a member at any level in order to participate in activities. Our membership is open to seniors age 50 or better. Some activities/programs require additional fees, which are the same for members and non-members. Donations for any program or activity are always gratefully accepted.
All membership levels are annual, January 1 to December 31. Membership renewals will be invoiced and are to be paid by Feb. 15. You can change your membership level upon renewal in January.
All member fees are non-refundable.
As a WKCSCC member, may serve on or lead committees.

Gardening, painting, event working, Bingo buddying…We could use all kinds of help to keep our center serving seniors, such as:
GARDENING OPPORTUNITIES
We need help weeding and watering rows of planted vegetables. We provide gardening gloves, hoe, rake, watering cans etc. Call ahead and set up convenient time.
TRIMMING GRASS AND WEED WHACKING
We also need help cutting the grass on our new septic mound system as that requires using our regular lawn mower and not the riding mower. We have a weed whacker available to use to trim around the building and fence line. Call ahead and set up convenient time.
EVENT VOLUNTEERS & HELPERS
Looking for volunteers to help solicit door prizes, plan, decorate, serve, clean-up for all calendared special events.
