Save Some Plastic, Do Some Good

In collaboration with Paddock Lake Lions, we now house large collection boxes for seniors and visitors to drop off plastic shopping bags, bubble wrap, and other clean recyclable plastic bags and wrappings. Eco-conscious seniors had it stuffed by its second week.

For every 500 pounds collected, the Center gets a durable park bench made of recycled materials. Sounds like a lot of plastic, but the Lions havee already put a bench in a park in Paddock Lake plus brought one to the Center!

Further collection will create recycled benches for the Center’s quarter-mile walking path. Constant weather exposure continually wreaks havoc on our current wooden benches along the path, so we’re really looking forward to recycled replacement benches.

Bring items to the Center to drop in the box like

  • store, ice, bread bags
  • Ziploc bags, cereal box liners
  • newspaper sleeves
  • beverage case overlaps
  • bubble wrap
  • dry cleaning bags

Help us keep the plastic out of landfills while also building benches for our seniors. Bring in your clean plastic bags. THANKS!
